AHSTW Girls and Boys Send Three Teams Each to State Track – Audubon Girls Await Official Times
(Treynor, IA) The Treynor state-qualifier meet started at 4 p.m. on Thursday as AHSTW and Audubon Girls track made their final adjustments before starting the races. The wait didn’t take long for the Lady Vikes as they started the meet off strong winning the 800-meter sprint medley with a time of 1:51.44. Caitlyn Dills, Loralei Wahling, Brooklyn Buck and Bella Lamp put together the Lady Vikes best time of the season behind a strong anchor leg from Lamp, overtaking MVAO-COU and Van Meter in the final lap to send the relay team to state.

Reivers Win First Region 11 Softball Title Since 2013
(Council Bluffs, IA) – Iowa Western softball sweeps Indian Hills 8-1 and 10-4 to win first ICCAC Region 11 title since 2013. Sophomore Madeline McCall got the start in game one and delivered an outstanding pitching performance, tossing a complete game and only allowing 4 hits and one run during the 4th inning. McCall finished the game in just 68 pitches adding three strikeouts and only allowing one walk. McCall improved to 11-6 on the season with the win. Offensively the Reivers were fueled by Sophomore outfielder Ella Fitzpatrick who finished the game 3-4 and just a triple shy of the cycle, as well as adding four RBIs. Fitzpatrick drove in three of her RBIs during a five-run 4th inning where Sophomore first baseman Alex Stoner also added a solo home run.

Treynor Earns the Crown While Nodaway’s Zack Gebbie Shoots Personal Best in Golf Sectional
(Neola, IA) – At the Quail Run Golf Course for boy’s golf sectional action, the Treynor boys were able to capture the crown after shooting 306 overall while OABCIG earned second with 317 overall. That means that the teams will continue on after sectional play with Coach Rob Wilkie and Treynor and Kurt Hoffmeister and OABCIG. In terms of individual finishes, OABCIG’s Axton Miller shot a sectional-best 65 earning the medalist while Treynor’s Ethan Konz was able to earn runner-up with a 71. Nodaway Valley’s Zack Gebbie was able to earn third place with his personal-best 73 and will advance on in the postseason. Treynor’s Bradley Stock also came in a top spot with a fourth-place finish while shooting a 76. Missouri Valley was not left out of the picture of course after Evan White shot a 76 to advance on as one of the individual qualifiers. Congratulations to all the boys moving forward in postseason action.
First Round Shutout in Region Finals for Iowa Western
(Council Bluffs, IA)- The 4th ranked Reivers baseball team kicked off the first round of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Region Finals with a 10-0 shutout win over Indian Hills on Thursday. While the scoring is impressive, the pitching from freshman Noah Scott is what takes the cake. The 11-1 right hander for the Reivers pitched a complete game against the Warriors allowing only five hits with his defense picking up 16 ground outs.
