Opening day of sturgeon spearing season on Lake Winnebago
The first day of the sturgeon spearing season began Saturday, Feb. 14, on Lake Winnebago. The Lake Winnebago system is home to the world's largest freshwater sturgeon population. The Winnebago System supports an annual spearing season that runs for a maximum of 16 days or until any of the predetermined harvest caps have been met. The harvest caps are 350 juvenile females, 732 adult females or 1226 males. Sturgeon can grow to more than 200 pounds. Green Bay music scene mourns Charlie Fabry, one of its best supporters
Charles "Charlie" Fabry loved the Green Bay music scene as much as it loved him. You could see it on his face – always a smile – and hear it in the percussion instruments he never went to a local show without. He wasn’t there as a member of the band that was playing that night. He was the fan in the crowd who was there to support live music and inevitably found his way up on the stage. Fabry liked to show up at gigs with a backpack full of shakers he would break out as the music moved him, sometimes passing them around to others and more times than not working his way onto the stage to join in. “Almost every band in town probably knows of him,” said Johnny Mazzariello, lead singer of The Chocolateers. “He was just kind of everywhere where there was live music, and he was a willing participant. He just brought a really infectious joy to other people when he was there.” His unexpected passing on Feb. 7 at age 64 has left the local music community reeling. “I would say the biggest music enthusiast in Green Bay,” said musician and promoter Carl

But now the restaurant is entering a new chapter as it is sold to Colten Burt, who intends to keep the establishment a restaurant under a new name, with changes at later dates.
