Towanda, Pa. — An argument between a man and woman led to assault charges after police discovered injuries on one participant.

Elijah Forrest Boone, 31, of Towanda assaulted the pregnant victim at his home and with his truck on the evening of May 5, Trooper Christopher Decatur said.

Boone began arguing with the woman at a home near the 500 block of Third Street in Towanda, according to a complaint. He allegedly slapped her twice and pushed her to the ground.

After the assault, the victim got into a pickup truck with Boone, who said he would take her to her parent's home, Decatur wrote. During the ride Boone allegedly took the accuser's phone and threw it out the window.

The two argued over who would recover the phone, according to Decatur. The accuser ultimately found it and then sat on the back of Boone’s tailgate.

Boone allegedly accelerated and slammed the brakes on with the accuser still on the truck, Decatur said, causing injuries to her stomach and ribs. She allegedly complained of pain from breathing when speaking with troopers.

Boone spit on the victim and called her names until he dropped her off at her parent's residence, Decatur wrote in his report.

The victim had scrapes and red marks throughout her body, according to law enforcement. She complained about pain in several areas.

Boone is being charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct, and several traffic offenses. He posted $100,000 monetary bail through a bondsman.
