Woman killed in high-speed hit-and-run motorcycle crash in Methuen
A woman was killed by a speeding motorcycle in Methuen, Massachusetts, Sunday night, police say, asking for help finding the driver, who fled the scene and hadn't been caught. The woman, a 62-year-old from Methuen who hasn't been publicly identified, was found face down by the side of Lowell Street near Alexander Circle at about 8:37 p.m. Sunday, Methuen police said. An officer provided first aid until paramedics arrived to bring her to Lawrence General Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead.
Lynn student accused of stabbing staff member "multiple times" at school
LYNN - A student at a Lynn charter school stabbed a staff member "several times" Monday morning, according to police. The staff member, who was not identified, is expected to survive. The suspect, 18-year-old Larnel Jean Eustach of Chelsea, is in police custody.Lynn Police were called to KIPP Academy on Wheeler Street and found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Police said the staff member was rushed to the hospital with what they described as "non-life-threatening injuries."There's no word yet on a motive. Police said Eustach left school after the stabbing, but officers later found him and took him into custody.He's now facing several charges, including assault with intent to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon. There is no other information about the incident at this point in the investigation.KIPP Academy is a public charter school with students in grades K through 12.
Three people, including child, dead in apparent murder-suicide in Lowell
Three people were found dead inside an apartment in Lowell, Massachusetts, on Saturday in what appears to be a murder-suicide, officials say. According to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office, a ma n living at a Warren Street apartment called 911 around 6:39 a.m. Saturday and told dispatchers that he had shot his wife and child. He also said he was in possession of guns.

Free Self-Defense Course Offered for Tewksbury Women Runners
Master Garafano of ATA Martial Arts will run two-day training. A study released in February showed that, among women runners responding to a survey, 68% said they had experienced some form of abusive behavior. The most common type was verbal abuse, with 58% of the women who responded reporting that they had experienced this. However, a substantial number of women also said they had been followed while out running (19%) or received abuse from men in vehicles (13%). Thirteen women said they had been physically assaulted while out running, and seven women had been sexually assaulted. And of course in February, a female runner was killed in Georgia on her run, in broad daylight, on her college campus.
