Here's when La-Z-Boy Home Furnishing is expected to open on S.W. Wanamaker Road in Topeka

La-Z-Boy Home Furnishing is expected to open along Topeka's S.W. Wanamaker Road in late 2024.

The home and furniture store touts itself as one of the world's leading residential furniture producers, marketing furniture for every room of the home, its website said.

The store will also stock items from England Furniture, La-Z-Boy, American Drew Furniture, Hammary Home Furnishings, Kincaid Furniture and the company's international wholesale and manufacturing businesses.

When will the La-Z-Boy Home Furnishing store open in Topeka?

Coal Creek Construction Inc. president, Mike Tindell said the company hopes to open in October or November of this year. The store will be at 1935 S.W. Wanamaker Road.

Branden Barrett, La-Z-Boy marketing manager, confirmed the store is looking at "a launch time of somewhere in the fall."

Tindell said his crew began working on the site about March 10.

Coal Creek is also listed as the contractor for the anticipated First Watch, a restaurant for breakfast and brunch, which will be next to IHOP, 1731 S.W. Wanamaker Road.

"The weather's been really good for construction," said Tindell, citing little rain over the past several weeks. "Which is no good for farmers, but it's good for construction. So, we're probably ahead on both projects by a week or two. The weather's been very good.

"It's nice to see some new business coming to Topeka also."
