2026 high school quarterback recruit shockingly chooses MAC team over Georgia, Michigan

Nearly every high school football players naturally dream of playing at some of the bigger schools in the country like Michigan or Georgia. But others, including 2026 high school quarterback recruit Bo Polston, would rather be a big fish in a smaller pond.

Polston isn’t the biggest name recruit, currently sitting at the No. 30 in the class per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. Still, he had some pretty big-name offers from some of the top schools in the country like Michigan, Georgia, and Washington .

But instead, Polston announced on his social media account that he will be attending the University of Toledo out of the MAC.

It’s not like Toledo is a bad school whatsoever for Polston. The school’s football program has thrived in recent years under head coach Jason Candle, most recently finishing 11-3 this past season. They were even ranked inside the AP Top 25 for a small portion of the season last year. 3

But with that being said, choosing Toledo over the likes of Michigan and Georgia is certainly an extremely surprising decision.

There are certainly positives for Polston choosing Toledo over these big-name schools. He is obviously far more likely to see the field earlier at a program like Toledo compared to playing at Michigan or Georgia.

Who knows, maybe Polston thrives at a smaller school like Toledo and then ends up entering the transfer portal to play at one of these bigger programs in the future when he is a bit of a more established name.

But for now, Polston will attempt to make his name known at Toledo when he enters college football in 2026.
