After leading his Whitmer team to its first Division I state final four appearance in 12 years, Panthers junior Antione West repeated as a first-team selection on the All-Ohio high school boys basketball teams released Thursday by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

West, a 6-foot-3 guard, averaged 19.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists during the regular season for seventh-ranked Whitmer (25-3), which lost to Centerville in last Saturday's D-I state semifinals.

He was also chosen to the D-I first team last season, when he averaged 21.5 points per game, and received special-mention All-Ohio recognition as a freshman in 2022.

Selected to the D-I All-Ohio second team was Findlay's 6-1 senior guard Javonte Hill, who led the fifth-ranked 21-3 Trojans to a Northern Lakes League Buckeye Division title (7-1), averaging 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

The teams were selected by a statewide media panel representing the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association.

The only area player to receive All-Ohio recognition among the top three teams in Division II was Fostoria's 6-2 senior guard Machi Johnson, who led the Redmen (19-5, 12-2) to a Northern Buckeye Conference title. He was named to the third team.

Johnson averaged 22.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, and became Fostoria's new career scoring leader with 1,356 points.

Receiving top individual honors as state players of the year were Marcus Johnson of Garfield Heights in Division I, and Alex Bruskotter of Shelby in Division II.

Johnson, a 6-1 sophomore guard, averaged 23.1 points for the third-ranked Bulldogs (25-2), who lost to Whitmer in the regional finals.

Bruskotter, a 6-8 senior guard, averaged 23.8 points and 9.1 rebounds for the second-ranked Whippets (25-3), who reached the state semifinals.
