Laughter and sisterhood: Titusville Playhouse brings 'Menopause the Musical' to Brevard

Titusville Playhouse pays tribute to the trials and triumphs of womanhood with "Menopause, the Musical." The fun and witty musical parody by Jeanie Linders opens Friday, May 17 for a run through May 26.

"Menopause, the Musical" has been tickling funny bones around the world since its debut at the Orlando Church Street Theatre in 2001. According to its website, the production has toured in more than 500 cities, playing to nearly 17 million people. Now, Titusville Playhouse brings it to Brevard.

Featuring parodies of classic pop songs from the '60s, '70s and '80s, the show follows four women at various stages of "the change" who come together in a department store while shopping for lingerie, and bond over their shared experiences. From hot flashes to mood swings, night sweats to memory loss, no topic is off-limits.

"Menopause, the Musical" playfully celebrates womanhood in all its messy, magnificent glory, tackling a sensitive subject with wit and warmth. In a culture where aging is sometimes viewed as something to be feared or hidden away, the musical celebrates the wisdom that comes with age.

"Menopause, the Musical" will resonate with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. It reminds us that despite our challenges, there's strength in solidarity, and beauty in embracing every chapter of our lives.
