Ann Arbor Pioneer won its second straight Division 1 girls cross country state title Saturday at Michigan International Speedway, led by a standout trio that swept the top three individually. Junior Natasza Dudek claimed her second straight individual title despite not running at full strength this season. Dudek posted a 16:26.6, the second-fastest time at a girls state final regardless of division. She now owns the two quickest times in the history of the state after breaking the record as a sophomore. Sophomore Keira Von Blon ran a 16:49.8 to finish runner-up individually, followed by junior Sienna Klemmer with a 16:54.7 putting her in third. Von Blon’s time is good for fourth-fastest all-time, while Klemmer’s is sixth best ever at the state final. Pioneer scored 87 points as a team to comfortably claim the program’s fifth title in the last eight seasons. Ann Arbor Skyline was runner-up with 191 points, giving the team its best ever finish at the state final. Senior Isla Tharp had the fastest time for Skyline, finishing 13th with a 17:48. Third place Northville had 205 points behind sophomore Alexandra Scappaticci and senior Lucia Lachapelle. The pair each posted top 20 results, with Scappaticci finishing ninth.
