The female green-winged teal was outfitted with a functioning transmitter on Feb. 26 at the Pinola Conservancy Aviary in Shreveport. C26, as the duck was designated in an ongoing research project, departed northwest Louisiana on March 23 and made a nonstop, 26-hour flight to South Dakota.
