Weekly Safety Report: Three-vehicle Crash and ATV Theft in Center, Texas
Two incidents occurred in Center, Texas this week. The first incident involved a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hurst Street and Roughrider Drive on November 15, 2023. A 17-year-old driver in a blue 2005 Ford Mustang attempted to turn left through an unprotected green light and collided with a white 2024 Buick Encore driven by Denny King. The second incident involved the theft of a 2013 Artic Cat 700 Prowler from a hunting lease on US 96 S between November 20-23, 2023.

Austin’s Homer Bryce Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Timpson will be the home team. Accepted passes will include District 11, Senior Citizen, and THSCA. Tickets at $10 at the gate. Cash and credit card will be accepted. The two teams met earlier in the season in a game known as the Battle of the Attoyac where Timpson took a 35-26 victory.
Center PD Investigates Crash at Hurst, Cass-Caid Intersection
November 28, 2023 - The intersection of hurst Street and Cass-Caid Drive was the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, November 23, 2023. According to the Center Police Department, at 1:35am a maroon Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by Jorge Vazquez, 21, of Center was northbound in the 800 block of Hurst Street when the Ram left the roadway to the right and struck a concrete drainage culvert, flipping over onto its top, and crossing the 100 block of Cass-Caid Drive. The Ram landed in the parking lot of Roughrider Quick Lube.
