SAVANNAH, Ga. — Update 1:45 p.m.:Police say the victim is an adult male. Officers responded to the scene around 3:40 a.m. following ShotSpotter reports. Fire in Okatie injures 1 person and destroys the Lunch Lady Food Truck
One person was hospitalized after a fire at the Rivers End subdivision in Okatie Friday, May 3 that also destroyed a local catering food truck. Bluffton Township Fire District firefighters arrived on the scene at 7 a.m. to find a Lunch Lady Food Truck kitchen trailer attached to a pick-up truck "fully engulfed in flames." First responders worked to extinguish the fires and were able to "minimize damage" to the attached pick-up truck and nearby houses.
