Fillin Station fight results in Attempted Murder charge for St. Helena man
A fight on Wednesday afternoon, April 17, on Lady’s Island resulted in a man being charged with Attempted Murder. At around 3:17 p.m., Beaufort Police officers responded to a disturbance at 57 Sea Island Parkway, The Fillin’ Station. There was a “fight in progress” in the parking lot of the business, and according to police, one participant pulled a gun.
THE ARTS INITIATIVE AT PALMETTO BLUFF: Still worth the drive!
Last year, I wrote a column about the vibrant arts initiative that is thriving “just over the bridge” at Palmetto Bluff, the beautiful 20,000-acre community situated on the May River between Savannah and Bluffton. I wrote about the thoughtfully created initiative and its artist-in-residency program that operates from March through December. With workshops ranging from free, to very reasonable, to quite expensive, I have been impressed by the variety of creative genres, and by the diverse race and age of participating artists. The art happenings continue to be “worth the drive!”
Alligator rescued from drain in Hilton Head
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (WTOC) - A Lowcountry animal rescuer freed a gator who Hilton Head neighbors say was stuck in a drainage pipe for almost six months. Matt Kraycar from K&K Wildlife Services got the call from Port Royal Plantation security just a few weeks ago. Kraycar said the gator may have gotten stuck when swimming through the drainage pipes of a lagoon.
