Community dog walk raises funds for Camarillo charity
It was a day for the dogs. An Australian shepherd mix, a mini golden doodle and a boxer border collie were among the pups that joined their owners for ACTION VC's debut fundraiser Community Dog Walk Saturday at Pitts Park in Camarillo. A small group participated in the event for the Camarillo faith-based charity, which helps community members most in need with direct financial aid, volunteer help and toys for children at Christmas. Quonset hut fire in Saticoy brings large response, displaces 5
A residential blaze in Saticoy Saturday drew a large firefighter response as crews upgraded the incident to a second-alarm fire. The incident was reported shortly before 11:15 a.m. in the 11100 block of Azahar Street, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. The block is near the intersection with Alelia Avenue in the unincorporated Saticoy community outside east Ventura city limits.

One of Thousand Oaks’ highest-density development proposals has moved one step closer to approval.
