TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Reach Services in Terre Haute received a $35,000 grant for veteran rental assistance.

This grant has been awarded to them for the past seven years, through the state’s Grants for Veterans’ Services program. Reach will disperse this money through rental payments for veterans so that they can prevent as many veterans from being homeless as possible.

Reach’s Program Manager Lavett Wilson said this service is something they are very passionate about.

“This is something that is really close to my heart so that we don’t see these folks living on the streets and in the camps that they are in,” she said. “If we can get this to use year after year, that’s great.”

Wilson added those who qualify for these services can fill out a form to receive them at their office at 1400 Hulman St. in Terre Haute.

Reach services will spend most of before it even gets down to the veteran. Sad but true!
