One flown to Indianapolis after two vehicle S.R. 46 crash

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Drivers are being asked to avoid an area of Terre Haute as police work to clean up a two-vehicle crash.

According to Terre Haute Police , the crash occurred at the intersection of S.R. 46 and Poplar Street. Reconstruction teams have been called to the scene to investigate.

Police pursuit ends in crash in southern Vigo County

Police said the crash occurred at 1:11 p.m., one of the drivers involved sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Hulman Regional Airport where they were then flown by Lifeline to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of what police described as minor injuries.

A WTWO reporter at the scene noted that northbound traffic was being diverted at Hulman Drive.
