Tenaha ISD announces lone superintendent finalist

TENAHA, Texas ( KETK ) — The Tenaha ISD board of trustees announced Jerrod Campbell as their lone finalist on Thursday.

According to a release, the district said Campbell will join the district with nearly 25 years of educational experience and has worked as a coach, classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and bus driver. Campbell said those experiences help him understand the school system, ensure he never forgets what it feels like to be in those positions and understands the sacrifice employees make to keep districts running.

Campbell started at East Texas Baptist Church in Marshall while playing basketball and finished his masters of education and superintendent certification at Stephen F. Austin. He was also a high school principal at Timpson High School.

“It’s hard sometimes to look forward to a job, no one really loves a job all the time. However, it’s the people who make you look forward to each day and what you do,” Campbell said.

Campbell said he attributes his success to his wife and his four children.

“Congratulations Mr. Campbell and we are so excited to welcome you to Tigerland! Mr. Campbell will undergo a 30-day waiting period, as is customary for all new superintendent hires, and then begin work on June 3, 2024,” Tenaha ISD said.
