P.Croissant, located at the northwest corner of Elliot Road and McClintock Drive in Tempe, closed after 41 years.

The P. stands for Pleaissant, according to Tempe Tourism . The shop, which opened in 1983 on Rural Road and moved to its current location in 2019, served savory and sweet croissants, cupcakes, muffins, croissant sandwiches and salads.

The shop's owner posted the following to its social media and website: "Things change. The economy, the market place, lifestyles, and our own personal health bring change to us all. These things, and with the encouragement of family and crew (almost family), I've decided it's time to close P.Croissant and retire. It's been a pleasure to serve you and your families these many years (in some cases four generations!). Thank you for your support, and best wishes to all of you."

ML Ayre wrote: "You’ll be greatly missed! My neighbor and I’s favorite croissants with a smile in service. Thank You - All The Best to you in health and well deserved r&r!"

"Sad, sad news," wrote Joe Goldblatt. "This has been my 'go to' breakfast place for 35+ years. I was there for new owners, new location, and so many new staff. It will be very hard to replace! Best wishes Seth and team!"
