    Sheriff identifies man killed after tree falls on car in Tazewell

    TAZEWELL, Tenn. ( WATE ) – At least one person has died after severe weather impacted parts of East Tennessee, with one fatality confirmed in Claiborne County.

    David Breeding with the Claiborne County EMA confirmed Wednesday afternoon that they had a fatality reported after a tree fell on a car at Lone Mountain Road and Jennings Road in Tazewell.

    The Claiborne County Sheriff, identified the man who was killed as Bryce Edward Hentick, 22.

    Claiborne County mayor Joe Brooks said on social media Wednesday that straight line winds in the Speedwell area along Hwy 63 had taken down several trees. Brooks also said the highway department is currently working to get them cleared.

    Storm Team 6 has been tracking storms in the region since early Wednesday, with more waves of severe weather expected later in the evening and overnight Thursday.
