No. 6 FSU (34-9, 13-8) is coming off a series win at No. 9 Duke , while the No. 20 Wolfpack (25-17, 12-9) swept Ball State last weekend but lost 5-4 to UNC Wilmington on Tuesday. The series pits two of the ACC's top sluggers in FSU's James Tibbs III (18 home runs, 66 RBIs) and NC State's Alec Makarewicz (17 homers, 58 RBIs).
Tonight's probable starters are Jamie Arnold (8-1, 1.79 ERA) for the Seminoles and Sam Highfill (4-1, 4.91 ERA) for the Wolfpack. Arnold threw five innings last week at Duke, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine. Highfill went six innings in a win against Ball State, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks with six strikeouts.
First pitch for Florida State vs. NC State is set for 6 p.m. Friday, May 3 at Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.
The game will not air on traditional TV but can be streamed on the ESPN app if you are subscribed to the ACC Network. Other streaming options include fuboTV , which offers a free trial to potential subscribers.
