Student with gun prompts lockdown at Wilkes-Barre school
A student at the Wilkes-Barre Career and Technical Center (CTC) was found with a gun in their backpack, prompting a lockdown. School officials say the school went into lockdown after 9 a.m. after a student was found to be in possession of a gun. The Plains Township Police Department responded and took the juvenile into custody, who was charged with several firearm and public safety violations. Afternoon classes were canceled at Wilkes Barre CTC to allow authorities to check and secure the school. Classes are set to resume this morning.
Police continuing to search for missing confidential informant
WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) — State Police in Wilkes-Barre are continuing their search for a woman who went missing in August of 2014. Troopers say Danielle Marie Drozdowski, of Luzerne County, was a confidential informant scheduled to testify before a grand jury in August 2014. However, they say, Drozdowski never showed up and was subsequently deemed a wanted person.
