Belleville man faces up to 60 years for 2014 murder
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Belleville man who admitted to shooting and killing a man in Champaign almost nine years ago is facing up to 60 years in prison. Darrion Miles, 33, pleaded guilty to the first-degree murder of Yojevol Sturkey, 35, or Urbana on Thursday, the News Gazette reports.

Two Arrested On Drug & Theft Charges
A St. Louis man and an Overland teen are arrested in Cook Station for burglary. Crawford County Sheriff Darin Layman says deputies responded Wednesday to a business in the 200 block of YY in Cook Station for a report of a burglary in progress. Deputies were informed of unauthorized subjects in possession of firearms in a cabin on the property. While attempting to locate the suspects, deputies discovered two firearms on the stairwell to the second-floor room of the cabin. The suspects were found in the upstairs room.

EDWARDSVILLE – A man is suing the Gateway Regional Medical Center, claiming he was injured after slipping and falling in the hospital's parking lot. Plaintiff Juan Villasenor filed the lawsuit in the Madison County Circuit Court against the Granite City Illinois Hospital Company, LLC, doing business as Gateway Regional Medical Center, and Granite City Physicians Corporation, doing business as Heartland Healthcare, citing negligence.

ST. LOUIS – A U.S. District Court judge sentenced a man to a decade in prison Thursday on federal drug charges. Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri said Antoine Meeks, 31, pleaded guilty in December 2022 to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
