The Arizona Department of Transportation advised drivers to plan for the following lane restrictions on US 60 (Grand Avenue) between Morristown and Surprise for pavement maintenance from May 3 through 5 and May 10 through 12:
Between May 3 and 5, US 60 will be narrowed to one lane in each direction between 163rd Avenue and Center Street from 11 p.m. Friday, May 3 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, and 11 p.m. May 4 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5.
Deer Valley Road at US 60 will be closed during these lane restrictions. Drivers may consider using Happy Valley Road or 163rd Avenue as an alternate route. Temporary closures of other cross streets in the area will be needed for work across intersections.
As a safety measure, the speed limit for the work zone will be 45 mph.
An 11-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place throughout construction.
Eastbound drivers and oversized vehicles may consider using State Route 74 to Loop 303 to reconnect with US 60. Westbound drivers may take northbound Loop 303 to Lake Pleasant Parkway to SR 74 to reconnect with US 60.
Local traffic northeast of the project area is encouraged to use Happy Valley Road to Loop 303 to avoid the work zone.
