Dumas softball continues hot streak with game one win over Randall
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Dumas Demonettes defeated the Randall Lady Raiders by a score of 6-4 in game one of the 2024 4A Regional Quarterfinals on Thursday. The Demonettes were led by Katie Contreras, who batted in two runs. Vida Fierro, Star Cortes and Aaliyah Garcia also contributed RBIs in the win.
Brazos Beck throws 10 strikeouts in New Home’s area championship over Gruver
AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The New Home Leopards defeated the Gruver Greyhounds by scores of 10-6 and 7-1 in Friday’s 2A Area Championship series. In game one, New Home scored in five straight innings after a scoreless first. The Leopards were led by Ryder Starkey, Graham Stanford and Cooper Brown, who each had two RBIs. Hunter Burrell, Ryder Watkins and Dylan Carrillo each had an RBI, as well. All nine starting Leopards recorded at least one hit.

Tommy Brooks defeated Ashleigh Wiswell 391 to 357 to take the single contested seat on the Dumas City Commission, according to the unofficial results of the May 4 election. In the race for three seats on the Dumas Independent School District Board of Trustees, Jill Williams (871) Brandon Cox (438), and Brent Clark (340) emerged as the top three candidates of an eight-person field. They will take the seats.
Ruben on the Road: Sherman County Public Library reopens after remodel
STRATFORD, Texas (KFDA) - The Sherman County Public Library in Stratford has reopened with new changes for visitors after a remodel. Mellonee York, director of the Sherman County Public Library, says the library has been closed for six months for a complete remodel. She says they secured $170,000 in grants to get the project started.
