SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) — One man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Summerville, Charleston County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Alexis Douglas said Thursday night. The crash happened in the area of Dunmeyer Hill Road and Mill Street shortly before 8 p.m. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the dead man inside the vehicle, Douglas said.

Carson Messina signs with Toronto Blue Jays
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - For the 2nd time this week, a member of the Messina household in Summerville has signed a deal to play professional baseball. Green Wave alum Carson Messina came to terms with the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday after the team made him a 12th round pick in the MLB Draft last week. Messina is getting a signing bonus of $550,000 according to Baseball America which is way above the slot value of the pick which is around $125,000. The extra money shows how badly Toronto wanted to get Messina signed.
