LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) – Four members of the Lake Charles Police Department enter a river to save a woman trapped inside a vehicle sinking into the water. According to the Lake Charles Police Department, Cpl. James Gruspier was patrolling near the 400 block of River Road Tuesday night. Cpl. Gruspier found a small silver sedan that was partially submerged in the river with a woman trapped inside. Cpl. Gruspier notified dispatchers of this situation and swam to the submerged vehicle.
Couple arrested after 4-year-old found unresponsive
A Sulphur couple was arrested Wednesday after a 4-year-old boy was found unresponsive in their home. The father of the child, Scott A. Edwards, 26, and his live-in girlfriend, Jenna E. Morgan, 24, gave conflicting stories on how the boy’s injuries may have occurred, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lake Charles man found guilty of armed robbery
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A Lake Charles man was convicted of two 2022 armed robberies Wednesday. Sean P. Greene, 19, robbed a local business at gunpoint and demanded employees give him money for the register, according to the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office. A few days later at a different business, he held an employee at gunpoint and demanded money from the register and new cell phones from a locked safe.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Changes from the humid weather are on the way soon, but one more warm and muggy day is ahead. More of the same weather from the past few days will last through the afternoon Saturday. This means we’ll see another day of highs in the 80′s for most, perhaps except for spots north of highway 190 where the cold front will be close to. And rain chances still look low for most of the morning and afternoon. The only exception may be a few pop-up showers by the late afternoon. Overall, the afternoon still looks ok for outdoor plans, including for This Is Home Fest in Lake Charles. As always, you can track any showers that do manage to form on the First Alert Weather App.
