Two arrested in killing at 18th St. apartment complex; victim identified
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Two suspects are facing murder charges after a man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Lake Charles this week. Craig Declouiet, 48, was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound at St. Charles Place Apartments on West 18th Street early Wednesday morning, Lake Charles police said. He later died of his injuries at a local hospital.

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A grand jury has declined charges in an October 2020 in-custody death at Calcasieu Correctional Center. Ray Lawrence Jr., 47, died after he was found unresponsive in his single-man cell around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2020. A lawsuit filed by his family said he was only in his cell at Calcasieu Correctional for 12 minutes.

Two indicted for murder in drive-by killing of innocent woman on Sailfish Drive
LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - A grand jury returned charges against three people Thursday after a woman was shot and killed in her home south of Lake Charles. Investigators said Annette D. Touvell, 65, was watching TV when she was shot in the head on Saturday, March 2. They said Touvell was not the target of the shooters, who they believed had been driving down Sailfish Drive and shooting at random houses.
