SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Residents in one valley community can help spruce up their community this month, during the Sullivan City-wide Cleanup event.

Sullivan residents can take items of trash inside or outside of their homes and bring them to the City Garage located at 317 South Broad Street. All residents must provide proof of ID with address to participate.

Chris Levingston is the Street Superintendent for the City of Sullivan and he said accepted items include household furniture, mattresses, or appliances that do not contain CFCs or HCFCs.

Levingston also told us more about items that are excluded from the cleanup.

“Pretty much anything but electronics, tires, paints, oil, stuff like that they can bring down and unload it and well load it up in a dumpster,” Levingston said.

Days of operation this month for the cleanup, are as follows:

    • Monday | 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Tuesday | 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday | 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Thursday | 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
    • Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Saturday (4th & 18th only) | 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
