Icy conditions cause wreck
On Monday, March 25, The Chase County Sheriff, Imperial Fire and Chase County EMS were called to a one vehicle accident, four miles east of Imperial on Highway 6. Antonio Flores, 46, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, lost control of his 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 while pulling a goose neck trailer with three horses inside, jackknifing into the north ditch. Both the driver and his passenger refused medical treatment at the scene and the horses were uninjured. Cause of the accident was determined to be an icy roadway and driving to fast for the road conditions. After transferring the horses to another trailer, the wrecked pickup and horse trailer were towed due to heavy damage. The Nebraska Department of Roads also assissted at the scene.
