Stockton: 22-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot Sunday Identified

The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a young man who was fatally shot early Sunday in Stockton.

Lawrence Nevel, a 22-year-old Stockton resident, was found with a gunshot wound and was declared dead over the weekend.

Officers responded at 1:34 a.m. Sunday to the 6200 block of North Pershing Avenue on a report of a person shot.

Nevel was located at the scene with at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Homicide detectives have not released any motive or suspect information in connection with the homicide.
