Almost every day in the 209 is Signing Day as athletes in the area continue their athletic journey to the collegiate level.
As of April 17, 14 San Joaquin County high school athletes have signed their letter of intent to play on the NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA and junior college levels in their respective sports. They join a long-running list of athletes from the area to take their talents to the next level from the class of 2024.
Here are the SJ County athletes who signed their national letter of intent to play college ball during the spring.

Jacob Delaney
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Golf
College: Rider University
Summary: Delaney will be heading to the East Coast to play DI golf for Rider University this upcoming fall. He is the lone golfer from St. Mary’s to earn a Division I scholarship this year. So far this season he has helped the Rams to a 5-2 overall record.
Cameron Lowe
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Pacific University
Summary: If Venture Academy needed a board, Lowe answered the call as its rebound leader for the past two seasons. He ended his high school career with over 1,000 rebounds and over 1,000 points. Lowe will take his talents to a DIII school in Oregon near a familiar face, teammate Mario Williams.
Legend Moore
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Track and field
College: San Jose State
Summary: Moore is yet another Division I signee from St. Mary’s class of 2024 as he will be taking his talents to San Jose State. The senior is one of the Rams' top jumpers this season after taking home bronze in the 2023 CIF State Meet in the high jump event.
DaeLeon Neal
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Modesto Junior College
Summary: Neal came in as a senior transfer and helped Venture Academy capture the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 4 championship this past year. He ended his year as a Mustang leading them in assists per game and scoring 231 points. Neal won’t be far from home attending MJC in the fall.
Parker Orlando
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Tennis
College: Cal State Stanislaus
Summary: Next fall Orlando will be playing DII tennis not too far from home at Cal State Stanislaus. She earned her scholarship after an undefeated senior season that ended with a 12-0 record and the Tri-City Athletic League Singles championship title.

Sofia Pittis
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Hockey
College: Nazareth University
Summary: Pitts marks the second St. Mary’s hockey player to sign their letter of intent to play college-level hockey. The 5-foot-5 right wing will take her talents to Rochester, NY to play for the Golden Flyers, a DIII program.
Alyssa Polk
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Soccer
College: Cal State Los Angeles
Summary: After a comeback season that resulted in her winning the RecordNet’s Fan Fav Girls Soccer Player of the Year, Polk will head to SoCal in the fall to play DII soccer. She ended her time as a Ram with 14 goals, 13 assists, and 41 points. Polk’s clutch offense helped St. Mary’s make it to the SJS Division 1 quarterfinals this past season.
Marcos Rosales
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: College of Redwoods
Summary: The reigning RecordNet’s Fan Fav Boys Basketball Player of the Year will be taking the junior college route heading to Eureka, CA in the fall. Rosales was a sparkplug coming off the bench for the Mustangs getting timely buckets throughout this year’s historic run. He ended his high school career with 977 total points and over 300 rebounds.
Jacob Segura
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Napa Valley College
Summary: Running the point during crucial times for Venture Academy was Segura who was consistent for the Mustangs for three seasons. The shifty senior ended his career with nearly 500 points (453) and nearly 500 assists (429). He will be taking the junior college route heading to Napa Valley College in the fall.
Cayden Ward
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Basketball
College: Cal Poly
Summary: After four years of being a stellar two-sport athlete for the Rams, Ward has chosen basketball for his next four years signing with Cal Poly, a DI program. During his time on the court, he has amassed nearly 800 points (780), 364 rebounds, and close to 100 assists (90).
Ray Wiggins
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Warren Wilson College
Summary: Wiggins will be going the furthest of any other Mustang this year heading to North Carolina in the fall to play for Warren Wilson, a DIII program. After two years on varsity, the 6-foot-4 forward scored nearly 300 points (280) and over 200 boards (223).

Mario Williams
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Western Oregon University
Summary: No one will forget Williams’ impact on the Venture Academy basketball program as he was the driving force in its first-ever SJS D4 basketball blue banner. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard finished ninth in the SJS for points per game (21.8) and scored nearly 2,000 career points (1,758).
Brayden Wilson
High school: St. Mary’s
Sport: Baseball
College: Menlo College
Summary: After the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, Wilson will be heading to Menlo College to play NAIA baseball for the Oaks. The 5-foot-10 outfielder has had a solid senior season racking up 16 hits, 13 RBIs, 12 runs, and a .356 batting average. He’ll look to capture a blue banner before he leaves in the fall.
Toriano Woods
High school: Venture Academy
Sport: Basketball
College: Copper Mountain College
Summary: Woods was like a madman on the court for the Mustangs as a key part of their championship finish this year. The senior transfer fit right in and ended his final season with nearly 200 points (199) and close to 100 rebounds (81). He will head to Joshua Tree to play junior college ball.
