COLUMBUS — Jackson and Glouster were among the municipalities received a total of $3.1 million in grants to support sustainable, long-term cost and energy savings. Minimal damage to Shawnee Township residence after fire
SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — A Sunday afternoon fire cause an estimated $10,000 to a residential structure in Shawnee Township. According to Austin Miller, chief of the Shawnee Township Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday to 4057 Odema Drive in reference to a structure fire. Miller said smoke was visible as firefighters arrived. Upon entry inside the home, firefighters observed a fire on the ground floor of the dwelling. A hole was cut to allow firemen to access the crawl space, and the fire was extinguished.

ATHENS, OH – In partnership with the Mount Zion Black Cultural Center, WOUB Public Media is screening the new documentary called THE LINCOLN SCHOOL STORY as part of the kick-off event for Berry Day Week in Athens on May 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Athena. The production, created by Ohio Humanities and distributed by WOSU Public Media in Columbus, follows a group of Black mothers in Southwest Ohio as they heroically fight for school desegregation.
