Pistol Pete 97, 98 selected
About seven hours after they walked through the door, Cooper Hamilton and Braden Smith knew they would be the next Pistol Petes. On Sunday, the pair completed Pistol Pete tryouts to become the 97th and 98th Petes. They were two of the 19 students who tried out in one of the larger applicant pools the tryouts have seen. Each of the applicants interviewed in front of a five-man judging committee of former Petes, then put the mascot head on and ran through situational scenarios posed to them.
OSU freshman Preston Stout places 22nd in pro debut on Korn Ferry Tour
After getting medalist honors in the Big 12 Championship, Oklahoma State freshman Preston Stout finished in the top 25 in his professional debut. Stout competed in the Veritex Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry tour this past weekend in Arlington, Texas. He qualified for the tournament via a sponsor exemption with Veritex. He tied for 22nd in his professional debut, with scores of 64, 68 and 67 on the first and final round, making it 18-under for the tournament. Although he finished in the top 25, no money was accepted to keep his amateur status.
Stillwater police: Joint operation uncovers human remains in connection to missing 17-year-old
STILLWATER, Okla. — Human remains were recovered Tuesday in connection to a missing Stillwater teenager who disappeared more than a year ago. The Stillwater Police Department confirmed that the remains were discovered during a joint operation with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Payne County Sheriff's Office. The remains are believed to be related to the case of 17-year-old Teedeenae "Jackson" Yearby, who was first reported missing in February 2023.
