STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) — Steubenville has already given the Ohio Valley a full slate of summer festivals with First Fridays on Fourth.

But the city has yet another block party to mark on your calendar—and you can stop by right after church.

The first Pentecost on North Street celebration is set for this Sunday from noon to 5.

It commemorates the Christian feast marking 50 days after Easter, when the Apostles were called to spread the Gospel.

Potluck food, live music from Faire May and pottery crafts are all lined up for an event meant to answer a need in an often solitary world.

“Everyone wants a deeper sense of community. We live in a very individual culture. And so when I bring up wanting to unify over common values, common goods, I find a lot of support for that.”

Andrew Carpenter, Pentecost on North St. organizer

Bishop Paul Bradley of the Steubenville Diocese will have a prayer for festival-goers, but organizers say Christians of all faith are welcome to come glorify God.
