Man stabbed in local home, dies at hospital

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) Steubenville Police are investigating a homicide.

Just before 11:45 pm Wednesday night Police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Oakmont Avenue for a call of a subject stabbed.

When officers arrived on scene they saw a 58-year-old man stabbed in the home.

Steubenville Fire and EMS transported the victim to Trinity West where he died as a result of his injuries.

Police say there was multiple witnesses on scene and the suspect ran prior to their arrival.

They gathered information on the suspect and later found him near Lawson Avenue and Cardinal Street and was taken into custody.

He is being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

The investigation is ongoing. Officers are not releasing names at this time.
