    Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Attackman TJ Malone Drafted No. 17 Overall By Maryland Whipsnakes

    Penn State men’s lacrosse attackman TJ Malone was drafted by the Maryland Whipsnakes with the No. 17 overall selection in Tuesday’s 2024 PLL College Draft. Malone is a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

    Malone was with the Nittany Lions for six seasons but only played in five due to an injury in 2022. The West Chester, Pennsylvania, native has found abundant success for Penn State, winning back-to-back Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year Awards in 2023 and 2024. Malone also is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten player and an Inside Lacrosse All-American.

    In 2024, Malone has led the way on a team looking for vengeance for last year’s NCAA Tournament semifinal defeat. The graduate student is fifth in the country and best in the Big Ten in points scored, notching 74 total and 5.3 points per game. This includes a program record-tying 13 points in the Big Ten Tournament.

    Malone will be back in action with the Nittany Lions at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, to take on No. 6 Georgetown on the road in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
