Penn State Baseball Adds Game Against Georgetown, Drops Game Against Navy

Penn State baseball has dropped one of its games against the Navy and added a game against Georgetown, the team announced Thursday. The game against the Hoyas will be played at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at Navy’s home field of Max Bishop Stadium in Annapolis.

Penn State was previously set to play Navy for three games during the weekend trip to Annapolis, but will cut that to two.

The schedule change comes after the Nittany Lions were forced to cancel a matchup at home against the West Virginia Mountaineers on Wednesday, April 25, due to poor field conditions caused by rain.

The last time the Nittany Lions played Georgetown was at home last season, in a weekend series where two of three games were played. Penn State won both games.

Before heading to Annapolis, head coach Mike Gambino’s squad will take on Minnesota at home in a three-game series. Following the trip, Penn State will finally get its hands on West Virginia, this time in an away matchup in Morgantown. The Nittany Lions will then finish off the season with a home and away series against Rutgers and Maryland, respectively, as well as a matchup on the road against Pitt.
