If Ohio State Is Being Asked For $5,000 Just for a Visit, James Franklin Notes Penn State Probably Is Too
Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith made waves last week when he testified before Congress that it is not unusual for potential recruits to ask for upwards of $5,000 for an official visit to even take place, largely in the wake of new rules allowing college athletes to make money from their name, image and likeness (NIL). Smith was testifying in part of the House Committee on Small Business' inquiry into the impact of NIL. "...[S]tudent-athletes and their parents visit campuses at the expense of those universities to evaluate where they may make a commitment. A practice of asking a school...

MID PENN CONFERENCE (MID SEASON REVIEW)
Central Dauphin: 3-2 (1-1) Central Dauphin East: 3-2 (1-1) Cumberland Valley: 1-4 (1-1) So, as we expected in the Commonwealth the 2 teams sitting at the top of the division at the halfway point are the Harrisburg Cougars and the State College Little Lions. Once again, the divisional winner this year will come down to these 2 teams as they are both perennial state powers at the 6A level. In fact, these 2 teams are accustomed to meeting 2 times a year as State College represents District 6 and Harrisburg comes out of District 3 once postseason play begins. State College was the winner of this division last year and looked primed to repeat. Coming into this season I picked Harrisburg to win this division and I think outside of that Manheim Twp. game they have looked the part. These 2 teams will meet in State College on 10/13 so make sure you mark that game on your calendar.

Penn State’s tweaked QB sneak is a challenge to stop, and James Franklin is going to lean on it
Stop it if you can. Iowa could not. Penn State’s 2022 short-yardage offense featured a T-formation look – running backs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton sandwiching tight end Brenton Strange in a horizontal alignment behind quarterback Sean Clifford -- that was tough to defend. If you purchase a...
Iowa's Path to 25ppg - Week 4
Continuing this series on tracking Iowa's famous 25 points per game contractual suggestion. As previously noted in the Week 1 Post, at the start of the season I calculated targets for each opponent based on 2022 points per game allowed and adjusted for home/away. Since we know some games will be harder than others, the goal was to put together a smarter budget of points needed each game to reach the 325 point goal.
