Peace & Play at Ferko Playground
The Block Gives Back on Saturday held its annual Peace & Play Day at Ferko Playground, 1101 E. Cayuga St. The day included a DJ, vendors, inflatables, games, volleyball, football, face painting, food trucks, HIV testing by Penn’s Perelman School of Medicine, a visit by a fire engine and a watermelon-eating contest judged by City Councilwoman Quetcy Lozada.
New GM at Rivers Casino
Rush Street Gaming announced that international gaming executive Susan Foster has been appointed general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia. “Having worked in various gaming jurisdictions in America and several other countries, I’m both an advocate for and an example of the tremendous opportunities casino gaming provides,” Foster said. “I’m very excited to be back in Pennsylvania at such a dynamic property.”
Pennsylvania SPCA sponsors summer ‘Pittiefest’ through Aug. 11

Cleo is a sweet, 1-year-old spayed female collie mix who weighs 35 pounds. She was on the run for three months before she was trapped. Cleo would love to find a family with another dog to play with and a fenced-in yard. She has tested great with other dogs and kids, walks well on a leash and is both house and crate trained. Eagles defense has a handful of things that need to go right
