SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Resurfacing work is expected to begin soon in the parking lots at Springfield-Branson National Airport.

An airport spokesperson tells OzarksFirst it’s the first time the lots have been resurfaced since the airport opened more than a decade ago.

The work is beginning with the short-term parking lot, meaning everyone will have to park in the long-term lots. The short-term lot has already been closed.

“We want people to know that it will be a long, complicated process through the summer. We’re asking for forgiveness and a little bit of patience through the work,” spokesperson Kent Boyd said.

Resurfacing will continue throughout the summer with long-term parking sections closing one at a time.

It’s unknown when the work will be finished due to the weather and contractor’s schedule.
