SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – In Springfield, protestors gathered on the steps of city hall Thursday in support of a Palmer family facing a fast-approaching eviction.

The Kalogeras family is facing an eviction from Wells Fargo after the company took ownership of their home through a foreclosure auction in 2019.

According to the family, the bank originally offered to reverse the foreclosure, but took the offer away and brought the family to court requesting they move out of the house. Eugenia Kalogeras told 22News, “I have two small children in elementary school and we have nowhere to go and I know a lot of friends and family who are dealing with the exact same thing and they shouldn’t have to be dealing with this, especially when we can work. Is this about money, is this about corporations, or is this about people?”

Local organization ‘ Springfield No One Leaves ‘ is working with the family to reverse the eviction.
