SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A lottery is being held for 40 new affordable condominiums for sale in Springfield.

The property is located in the South End neighborhood and was formerly the home of a 100,000-square-foot textile mill owned by the Gemini Corporation. It was destroyed by a fire in 2003, according to the City of Springfield.

Condos available will include two and three-bedroom units with electric utilities, private enclosed garages, and a community pavilion. Gemini Townhomes are being developed on 89 Morris St. in Springfield by Home City Development Inc and being listed by Homes Logic Real Estate.

To qualify, you must be able to obtain a mortgage loan, be a first-time homebuyer, and not exceed the household income and asset limits. Applications are due by June 28th. For more information or to sign up for the lottery, visit geminispringfield.com , call/text 413-707-2455 or email Info@GeminiSpringfield.com .

“This development will provide 40 families the opportunity of home ownership, said Thomas Kegelman, Executive Director of Home City Development Inc, the developer for the project. “Home ownership is the first step in creating generational wealth,” he added.

“To get started, you just have to go to the website and apply for the lottery,” said Freddy Lopez, of Homes Logic Real Estate, the project broker. “If you have any questions feel free to contact us and we can walk you through the process,” he added.

The $23 million project is funded by MassHousing, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, Mass Saves, Mass Clean Energy Center, and the City of Springfield.
