One person sent to the hospital after accident on Maple Street in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – One person is in the hospital following a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street Wednesday night.

According to Springfield Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, at approximately 6 p.m., crews were called to 82 Maple Street for a two-car accident.

One occupant was reportedly trapped inside of the vehicle and required extrication. They were then brought to a local hospital where they are expected to be okay.

Further details regarding the cause of the accident is still under investigation and we will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.
