A teenager is in serious, but stable, condition after getting hit by a car in Spring Valley Monday evening.

Spring Valley police Det. Matthew Galli said the 15-year-old victim was struck by 290 West Route 59 near South Cole Avenue.

The victim was treated by Chaverim and Hatzoloh EMS before being rushed to Westchester Medical Center, where they were treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

This is the fifth incident of a vehicle accident involving minor pedestrians in the village this year. The other incidents all involved children struck by school buses as they were crossing the street. Two of those crashes killed an 8-year-old boy in January and a 5-year-old girl in February .

Galli said the vehicle involved remain on the scene, however the incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the Spring Valley Police Department at 845-356-7400.
