Board replacement taking place on GH boardwalk
As the Grand Haven boardwalk turns 40 this year, efforts are underway to spruce up the aging planks that make up the walkway. Spongy moth spraying will begin soon
Grand Haven Township hopes to begin spraying for spongy moths sometime during the week of May 13. The process will take about a day. In 2019, the spongy moth outbreak in Michigan began, with its peak in 2021. Since then, the outbreak has been declining, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
GHHS choir selected as All-State Ensemble
Grand Haven High School’s Choral Ensemble was recently named a Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) All-State Ensemble. The student ensemble was one of 13 high school groups selected from across the state to perform at this year’s All-State Festival. The festival will be held at Michigan State University on Friday, May 10 during the All State Ensemble Recital. The recognition is a big accomplishment for the choral ensemble, said the choir’s director, Juli Dick. She explained the MSVMA is very selective as to which students and groups are chosen to perform in the recitals.
