Woman finds photo after strong storms blow through Putnam County

PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The power of the wind from this week’s storms is undeniable and one picture is proof of that.

Terrie Van Curen discovered a ripped family photo of a woman in her field after the storm blew through, so she wanted to find the owner of it.

She found the picture in the middle of a field on her farm on Little Indian Creek in the Buffalo Valley community. She told News 2 there is no one around them and it could not have come from a neighbor’s yard.

Van Curen said her property avoided the worst storm damage but she did see a lot of flooding this week.

Someone recognized the photo on Friday, May 10, after the story aired on “Good Morning Nashville,” and came forward to identify the person in the picture as Valerie Bernhart of Spring Hill.

News 2 talked with the family and is hoping to reunite them with the picture.

The Bernhart family’s home in Spring Hill suffered heavy damage during the storm on Wednesday, May 8. The Associated Press even published a photo of Bernhart looking at the damage the following day:
