SPOKANE, Wash. -- Three people were arrested at an apartment identified by police as a hotspot for criminal activity on Friday, according to Spokane Police Department.

Spokane Police, SWAT and the Hostage Negotiators Team served several search warrants at an apartment near Indiana Avenue and Hamilton Street in North Spokane on May 3.

According to police, the main search warrant was for a drug issue at an apartment where a 15-month-old child was living. The child was placed with Child Protective Services due to safety concerns.

During the search, 29-year-old Zachariah M. Campbell was arrested for malicious mischief and 35-year-old James P. Hickman was arrested for violating a protection order. Both men were booked into Spokane County Jail.

60-year-old Gary D. Salchenberg was also arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for failing to register as a sex offender.

Since January 1, SPD has been called over 60 times with complaints about the apartment. The Department said they are actively working to reduce the complaint calls.
