SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – FlixBus and Greyhound announced Thursday that they are relocating their Spartanburg intercity bus stop.

Buses will now stop at the Raceway gas station on Asheville Highway near Interstate 85.

FlixBus moved service to the new location Thursday while Greyhound will move service beginning May 22.

The company said their decision was made to “serve customers better and improve travel times.”

“We are looking forward to consolidating FlixBus and Greyhound into one location in the Spartanburg area,” said Paul Henjes, government affairs and strategic partnerships manager for FlixBus, in a statement. “This move will not only provide our customers with a more convenient and efficient travel experience, but it will also allow us to better serve the growing demand for bus transportation in this area.”

With the move, Greyhound and FlixBus will no longer serve the SPARTA Passenger Center in downtown Spartanburg.

The move leaves Spartanburg city bus riders without access to intercity buses from the downtown transit center.

FlixBus and Greyhound are both owned by Flix North America following Flix’s purchase of Greyhound in 2021.
