These temporary shopping stops offer more chances to find gifts from local artists, makers and small businesses this season: NWA Boutique Show , Nov. 20–21: More than 185 merchants at the Rogers Convention Center at Embassy Suites. General admission is $10; children 12 and younger get in free. Merry & Bright Market , Nov. 21–22: The Ledger market in Bentonville expands to two days this year. Shop local makers from 9am–3pm . Winter Market of NWA , Nov. 27–28: At the Benton County Fairgrounds, covering Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Rogers Christmas Village , Dec. 4: The vendor market at Frisco Plaza starts at 5pm, ahead of the downtown Christmas parade at 6:30pm. No priority violations at most Greene Co. kitchens inspected recently

Out of 51 routine inspections, more than 75% of the kitchens the Springfield-Greene County Health Department visited had no priority violations. Across the 39 inspections that had no priority violations, 31 had no violations at all. Issues found during inspections fall into either priority or non-priority violations. Priority violations impact the safety of the food, such as cross-contamination between raw and ready-to-eat food, improper food temperature and poor personal hygiene and employee health. Multiple priority violations can lead to an establishment being shut down. Non-priority violations alone do not directly affect food safety, such as dirty floors, sticky tabletops or outside trash cans not being covered. Here's what inspectors want you to know Food inspections take place one to three times a year, depending on the type of food served, the population served, difficulty of food preparation and past history. Restaurants preparing food from raw ingredients are inspected more often "than convenience stores that serve only non-potentially hazardous foods, such as popcorn and soda," according to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department . Kodachrome Ended in Parsons, Kansas: Dwayne's Photo Ran the Last Roll on January 18, 2011

In the last week of December 2010, a railroad worker named Jim DeNike drove from Arkansas to Parsons, Kansas, and loaded a dozen boxes holding nearly 50,000 slides into an old maroon Pontiac. He had sent Dwayne's Photo 1,580 rolls of Kodachrome and paid $15,798 to have them developed, borrowing against his father's retirement account to cover it. Every frame in those boxes was a picture of a train.
