Alligator spotted in Caswell Beach; residents asked to contact officials if they spot it
CASWELL BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - An alligator was spotted on Caswell Beach Monday and Tuesday morning, according to the Town of Caswell Beach. “Yesterday, town administration requested that police notify the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) because our officers are not authorized, trained, and equipped to handle dangerous wildlife. Again, if the alligator is spotted, please keep your distance and urge others to do the same as well,” a town announcement states.

New and improved: Ocean Isle Beach completes park expansion ahead of summer
After a decade of planning and years of construction, upgrades to a park in a Brunswick County beach town are complete, just in time for summer. Looking to build a public gathering space by the beach, Ocean Isle Beach officials began eyeing property between the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Causeway Drive in 2014. A 1.7-acre parcel adjacent to the museum was purchased by the town that year.
Intracoastal Angler To Grow With Two New Hampstead Stores
Wilmington-based Intracoastal Angler has plans to grow with two new locations in Hampstead. The expansion “marks a significant milestone” for the long-time fishing gear and tackle shop, according to a news release Tuesday announcing the new stores. Intracoastal Angler currently serves the Wilmington area at its store on Oleander Drive, offering everything from rods and reels to bait, sunglasses, fishing tackle and branded apparel.
10th Annual Jewish Film Festival happening May 1-9
